Calvinism has a reputation of being divisive, but its led to some events much larger than just arguing over doctrine online. Even if you do not consider yourself Reformed, I think you’ll enjoy this walk through history, as we take a look at Calvinism’s role from the reformation to the American revolution, and touch on some key doctrine within Calvinism that inspired it.

In this whole long conversation, you avoided addressing the concept for which Calvin is best known, rightly or wrongly – predestination pushed to the point of denying individual free will. You also did not recognize the fact that Calvin established a tyrannical theocracy in Geneva, and had Michael Servetus burned at the stake even though he was not a citizen and legally could only be banished.
Thank you so much for your comment! We will address them when we do more on reformers.
